Our Kuskokwim River is the lifeblood of the communities that call this region home.
The proposed Donlin gold mine would be one of the world’s largest gold mines and threatens our way of life and the health of Mother Kuskokwim
Local Tribal Nations have come together to form the Mother Kuskokwim Tribal Coalition to firmly tell Donlin they do not have the social license to develop a toxic open pit sulfide laced gold-mine in the headwaters of the Kuskokwim river.

The Kuskokwim River, located in Western Alaska in the heart of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to 56 Tribal Nations. The river supports thriving salmon runs, cultural and traditional practices.
Kuskokwim River: Giver of Life

“We can’t eat gold. I can eat moose, caribou, fish, all kinds of fish, ducks, and geese. I can eat those and I can live off of ‘em.”
— Walter Larson, Bethel Elder
